A wooden slat bed is essential to ensure that your mattress is well supported and to improve the quality of your sleep. At ABC Meubles, we design solid and durable wooden slat beds, made in France. Robust and environmentally friendly, they guarantee a comfortable night's sleep and excellent mattress ventilation.

Our range of slat bed covers all configurations:

- 70x190, 80x190, 80x200, 90x190, 90x200, 140x190, 140x200 and 160x200 cm

- With or without mattress insert

- 2-seater and 1-seater

- Separable twin beds

Our slat beds are compatible with most standard mattresses.

Our slat beds can be left unfinished or protected with a water-based varnish that is harmless to health. We offer several finishes to match your bedroom furniture. The varnishes we use are environmentally friendly, resistant and free from harmful solvents.

All our wooden slat beds are made in Normandy, in our own workshop. We favour local and French materials:

  • Solid wood: Landes
  • Hardware: Cholet
  • Ecological finishes: Sarthe
  • Packaging: Normandy

The mattress insert depends on the type of slatted base you choose:

  • - The Kit France model has no inlay. In this case, the mattress rests directly on the frame, flush with the structure.
  • - The Kit Noé is designed with a 3 cm recess, which is practical for ensuring that the mattress stays in place, even if you move around during the night.
  • - The twin box springs, designed to be assembled to form a double bed, do not have a specific recess to ensure easy adjustment.

⚠️ A quick reminder: in accordance with European standard EN1334, mattresses and slat bases can vary by up to 2 cm from the standard dimensions advertised. This standard is particularly important for a slatted base without an inlay.

A sturdy, comfortable slat bed

At ABC Meubles, we only develop sturdy, hard-wearing wooden slat beds. Breaking away from brands that design disposable furniture ranges, we only make slat beds that you can use for many years. Thanks to their sturdiness, slat beds can be moved, assembled and dismantled at will without ever losing their solidity.

We use only French wood from a sustainably managed forest in the Landes region of France to make our slat beds. In this way, we promote an environmentally-friendly manufacturing process that is made in France. The slat beds are then made in our own workshops, based in Basse-Normandie. This method enables us to promote local production while reducing the carbon footprint of all our furniture ranges.

Thanks to its robustness, the ABC Meubles slat beds can easily be used for bedding in guest rooms and gîtes. 


A customisable slat bed

As well as being environmentally friendly, comfortable and robust, our slat beds are customisable. When you select your slat bed model, you can choose from 6 finishes. 

The advantage of customisation? It's totally environmentally friendly and good for your health. To reduce VOC emissions, we only use solvent-free water-based varnish. We also use the ‘finger joint’ technique to design bedding without toxic glue, so you can install it in children's bedrooms without risking their health.
