For ABC Meubles, sustainable furniture is furniture that is well thought out, well produced and designed to withstand everyday life. Our furniture is beautiful and timeless, made in Normandy using French raw materials and know-how.

To take things a step further, we've taken a major decision: to entrust the assessment of the environmental and social impact of our products to an independent body. Thanks to the Eco Impact Score, awarded by Eco Impact, an external and independent body, our products are rated objectively, guaranteeing total transparency on their ecological and social footprint.

What is Eco Impact Score ?

The Eco Impact Score is a mark awarded to furniture products to measure their overall environmental impact. Its role is to provide an objective analysis of the ecological impact of furniture, taking into account various criteria such as manufacturing, the use of raw materials, the end-of-life of the product and the social conditions associated with its production. The Eco Impact Score ranges from A to E, and the higher the letter, the less environmentally friendly the product is considered to be. This score makes it easy for consumers to compare products and make more responsible choices in terms of their ecological footprint.

The Eco Impact Score is awarded by an independent third party: Eco Impact. The key element here is the independence of the organisation. We have no influence whatsoever on the scores awarded by Eco Impact, thus guaranteeing total objectivity.

Why eco-label our furniture?

Our decision to have our furniture eco-labelled by an external body is part of our drive to strengthen our policy of responsibility. Here are the three main reasons for this assessment:

1. Transparency: We want you, our customers, to be able to make informed choices when buying furniture. By providing clear and objective information, we make it easier for you to make the right decision, while guaranteeing the quality and durability of our products.
2. Continuous improvement: Evaluating our furniture enables us to better understand our environmental impact and to target the areas where we need to work to improve our processes. This approach encourages us to constantly innovate and to go further in our commitment to the environment.
3. Combating greenwashing: More and more brands are putting forward ecological arguments, sometimes without any solid foundation. By entrusting the evaluation of our products to Eco Impact, we validate our approach and prove that our commitments are real. The Eco-score awarded to each of our products reinforces our credibility and ensures that our actions are in no way misleading.

The Eco Impact Score of our products, what are our results?

Our products are currently being assessed. To date, around twenty of them have been rated thanks to our collaboration with Eco Impact, according to the principles of Life Cycle Assessment. These products have been given scores ranging from A to B on an A to E scale.

This rating reflects all our commitments in a demanding way.

Thanks in particular to :

• The use of certified materials
• A fully repairable product
• An active CSR approach

Note that our 2-seater chest bed has an environmental impact reduction of -46% compared to a median product, taken from a representative panel of products in the bed category.
